The Mint Julep Boutique – Shoes Haul!

The Mint Julep Boutique – Shoes Haul!

The Mint Julep Boutique is the first independent boutique I ever remember ordering from, and I still love so many of their selections.  Unfortunately, most of their tops and dresses don’t come in sizes below Small, and their jeans & pants often have inseams that are too long for my short legs, but sometimes I do luck out and find something totally awesome that works for my frame.

Even better, they carry down to size 5 for many of their shoe styles, and I discovered last week that they have so many amazing options!  I had a really difficult time choosing just a few pairs, but I finally narrowed my cart down to three pairs I couldn’t resist.

One thing I really like about their boutique is their monogramming section: I have a huge weakness for pretty much anything monogrammed, and lately I’ve been even more obsessed.  Two of the pairs I ordered have the option to add one, so of course, I did!

They offer free shipping for any purchase of at least $100, and even with the monogramming time, my package arrived just a few business days later.

I was a little surprised to see that the shoes didn’t come in boxes, and instead were just wrapped with the boutique’s tissue paper.  It wasn’t a problem for me, but it might be something to consider if you’re gifting them.  Also, my box had a split down one corner so I was a little worried, but luckily all my shoes were completely unharmed.

First, the ‘Start Over’ monogrammed booties.  These are to die for!  I chose the dark brown thread and Interlock style, and they couldn’t be more perfect.  They feel very well-made, and they fit just right.

The one review on the site suggests these booties run big, and I can agree with that, but I don’t feel like they’re outrageously huge.  I usually buy a size 6.5 in most boots with a size 6 often being a little tight and uncomfortable for me, but this 6 fit me perfectly.  I think if you’re between whole sizes you could easily size down on this one, but otherwise I wouldn’t jump down too much.

My rating: 5 out of 5!  These are so perfect – all pros and no cons for me!

Note: the booties are currently out of stock in every size except 6, but a similar (black) pair can be found here, and this pair can also be monogrammed.  Also, both of these pairs carry an additional $4 fee if you do choose to monogram.

Next up: the monogrammed ‘Keep It Sassy’ sneakers!  I really like these, too!  The black rhinestone details and the pull-tight closures are so unique and pretty, and of course, you know I love the monogram!  I picked the white threading for this one, also in the interlock style.

For me, these ran even larger than the boots, although I tend to wear smaller sizes in sneakers, anyway.  I’m typically a 5.5 in them, and if they only come in whole sizes, I size up to a 6.  These are a 6 and they definitely feel bigger than I hoped, so I’ll be ordering a 5 for my next pair of athletic shoes from them.

Also, these are really lightweight and don’t feel very substantial.  They’re still really cute and will be great for out and about, but I wouldn’t wear these for running or any true athletic activities.  Happily, I didn’t buy them for that, so it’s fine with me – and for only $34 with free monogramming (yup, totally free for this pair!), these are a steal!

My final rating: 4 out of 5.  Gorgeous and a great deal overall!

Last up, these pretty ‘Get To Work’ slide on loafers.  Even though I’m a stay-at-home mommy, I like to dress up a little sometimes, and these work great to easily escalate an outfit to the next level.  These are also a size 6 and they’re a little loose on me.  I probably should have gotten 5.5 instead, but this size will work fine.

They’re so classy and not uncomfortable at all – so easy to slip on before running out on errands!

My rating: 4.5 out of 5.  I only took off 1/2 a star because they are a little big on me,  but that might just be my odd feet.  I’m really pleased with these, too!

This entire order is a hit for me!  Don’t you love it when that happens?!
